Introduction

Welcome to Kyx Ai! We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience while using our services. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use our bot and the choices you have associated with that data.

Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you. Here's what we collect:

  • Messages Sent by You: To build relationships and recall previous conversations, we store information about the messages you send. We also store the messages you send directly to Kyx (for example mentions, /chat and voice chat) together with Kyx's replies, so we can understand how the bot is used and improve it.
  • Things You Tell Kyx About Yourself: Kyx sometimes asks you questions to get to know you, for example about your favorite champion, your sport or team, or what you are up to today. If you have accepted this privacy policy, Kyx saves what you tell it about yourself for the server you said it on and uses it in later conversations. Nothing is stored about people who have not accepted this privacy policy. You can simply ignore these questions.
  • Generated Content: We store generated images, videos, songs (including their lyrics), and sounds created during your interaction with our bot.
  • Uploaded Content: Any images, videos, sounds, and other files you upload are stored.
  • Command Usage: We analyze how you use our bot's commands to improve our service.
  • Game and Activity Status: If Kyx is active on a server, it sees the Discord activity status of server members (for example which game they are playing). Kyx only uses this to occasionally comment when someone starts a game. The status itself is not stored. If you have accepted our data processing terms, your display name and the name of the game are sent to our AI provider to write that short comment. Server admins can turn this off with the random interactions setting or /proactive.
  • League of Legends Ranks: If you registered your League of Legends account with Kyx, Kyx saves your Solo/Duo rank (tier, division, LP, wins and losses) once a week for that server. It uses this to post a weekly server ranking showing who climbed or dropped. Only members who accepted this privacy policy are included, and you can leave the ranking by turning off match summaries with /game_summaries. These weekly ranks are deleted after 400 days.
  • Yearly Recap (Kyx Wrapped): At the end of the year Kyx posts a recap of the server's year with Kyx, built from data we already store (how often members used Kyx, songs, images, tracked League of Legends games and match tips). Members appear by name only if they accepted this privacy policy; everyone else is only counted. You can also ask Kyx for your own recap. No additional personal data is stored for this.
  • Feedback: Feedback you send with the /feedback command and emoji reactions (such as 👍 or 👎) on Kyx's messages are stored anonymously, without your Discord user ID. Because this feedback is not linked to your account, it cannot be found or deleted per user.

We retain collected information for as long as is necessary to provide you with your requested service. Data is removed when the reason for its collection is no longer applicable. Messages you have sent to the bot and Kyx's replies are deleted automatically after 30 days. Notes Kyx keeps about you (such as your plans for the day) are deleted after 30 days. Profile facts you told Kyx (such as your favorite champion or your team) are deleted 180 days after you last told Kyx about them; a newer answer replaces the old one.

Data Storage

All collected data is stored in a secure database within the European Union, adhering to the highest standards of privacy and data protection.

AI Providers

To generate replies, images, videos, songs and speech, the content of your requests (such as messages, prompts, uploaded images and voice recordings) is sent to the following AI providers, who process it on our behalf:

  • Google (Gemini and Speech Recognition) for text replies, image analysis and voice transcription
  • OpenAI for text replies and text-to-speech
  • OpenRouter for image and video generation, and for writing song lyrics. For lyrics, OpenRouter forwards the request to Google (Gemini). Besides the song request itself, this includes what Kyx has saved about the people the song is about (such as facts, notes and their relationship with Kyx) and the server's saved memories (such as inside jokes).
  • sunoapi.org (Suno) for song generation; the song title, style and lyrics are sent there
  • Anthropic (Claude) for internal usage reports, in which stored conversations and feedback are analyzed so we can decide how to improve Kyx

These providers may process data outside the European Union. We only share what is needed for the respective task.

Use of Data

The data we collect is used in various ways:

  • To provide and maintain our service
  • To improve your interaction with our bot
  • For analytical purposes to enhance the bot's functionalities

Data Protection Rights

Under GDPR, you have various rights in relation to your personal data, including:

  • The right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you.
  • The right of rectification.
  • The right to object.
  • The right of restriction.
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to withdraw consent

If at any time you wish to access the data we have stored linking to your account, want us to delete all your data, or have any other concerns, please contact us at support@kyxai.app, and we will do our best to resolve your concerns. You can also delete all your stored data by using the /delete_all_my_data command within discord.
